Responsible AI Policy

Last Updated: June 30, 2026

At DSHG Sonic LLC (“DSHG Sonic,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), artificial intelligence is at the core of everything we build. This Responsible AI Policy sets out our commitments to developing, deploying, and governing artificial intelligence technologies in a manner that is ethical, transparent, human-centered, and aligned with the broader public interest.

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1Our Commitment to Responsible AI

DSHG Sonic is an AI-native company. We design, build, integrate, and deploy artificial intelligence systems for startups, growing businesses, and enterprise clients. We believe that AI has the power to create transformational value — and that building AI responsibly is not a constraint on innovation, but a prerequisite for it.

Our commitment to responsible AI is grounded in the following beliefs:

  • AI should serve human needs and be subject to human oversight.
  • The benefits of AI should be distributed fairly and not concentrated in ways that harm individuals or communities.
  • Transparency and accountability are essential components of trustworthy AI.
  • The risks of AI must be actively identified, assessed, and managed throughout the development lifecycle.
  • AI development must respect individual privacy, dignity, and fundamental rights.

2Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All AI systems, models, agents, automation workflows, and AI-integrated software developed or deployed by DSHG Sonic.
  • All employees, contractors, consultants, and partners who participate in the design, development, testing, deployment, or maintenance of AI systems at DSHG Sonic.
  • AI systems built by DSHG Sonic on behalf of clients under commercial engagements.
  • DSHG Sonic's use of third-party AI platforms, APIs, and tools integrated into our services.

For client-specific AI deployments, additional responsible AI requirements may be established within the applicable engagement agreement.

3Core Principles

Human-Centered Design

We design AI systems to augment human capability — not replace human judgment where judgment is critical. AI tools built by DSHG Sonic are designed to provide decision support, not to make irreversible consequential decisions autonomously without appropriate human review.

Transparency

We are transparent about when and how AI is used within our products and services. We clearly communicate the capabilities and limitations of AI systems to our clients. We do not misrepresent AI-generated content as human-authored content without appropriate disclosure.

Fairness and Non-Discrimination

We are committed to identifying and mitigating bias in AI systems we build or deploy. We evaluate AI outputs for potential discriminatory impacts and take steps to address identified disparities. We do not build AI systems intended to discriminate against individuals based on protected characteristics.

Accountability

DSHG Sonic takes responsibility for the AI systems we build and deploy. We establish clear lines of accountability for AI development decisions, implement feedback mechanisms for identifying issues, and respond to reported concerns in a timely manner.

Privacy by Design

Privacy considerations are integrated into AI system design from inception. We apply data minimization principles, limit AI access to personal data to what is necessary for the intended function, and implement appropriate security controls to protect sensitive information processed by AI systems.

Safety and Reliability

We test AI systems rigorously before deployment. We implement monitoring and alerting for unexpected AI behavior. We establish processes for identifying, escalating, and remediating safety issues in deployed AI systems.

4Human Oversight

DSHG Sonic believes that meaningful human oversight is essential for responsible AI deployment. Our approach to human oversight includes:

  • Designing AI systems with clear escalation paths to human review for edge cases and high-stakes decisions.
  • Building override and intervention mechanisms into AI-assisted workflows.
  • Training team members to critically evaluate AI outputs rather than accepting them uncritically.
  • Recommending that clients maintain appropriate human review processes for AI outputs used in consequential decisions.
  • Documenting the decisions AI systems are authorized to make autonomously versus those requiring human approval.

5Transparency and Disclosure

We are committed to clear and honest communication about our use of artificial intelligence. Specifically:

  • We disclose to clients when AI technologies are a material component of a delivered solution.
  • We document the AI models, providers, and frameworks used within client engagements where appropriate.
  • We communicate known limitations of AI systems to clients and end users.
  • We do not make exaggerated claims about AI capabilities beyond what can be reasonably demonstrated.
  • We maintain records of material AI development and deployment decisions for accountability purposes.

6Fairness and Bias Mitigation

Bias in AI systems can cause real harm to individuals and communities. Our approach to fairness and bias mitigation includes:

  • Evaluating training datasets and input data for potential sources of bias prior to use in AI systems.
  • Testing AI outputs for disparate impacts across demographic groups where feasible and relevant.
  • Engaging with diverse perspectives during AI design and testing phases.
  • Monitoring deployed AI systems for unexpected or discriminatory behavior.
  • Responding to reported bias concerns with investigation and remediation.

We do not build AI systems whose intended purpose is to discriminate against individuals based on race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or other protected characteristics.

7Privacy and Data Protection

Our AI systems are designed to respect user privacy. Our data practices for AI development and deployment include:

  • Applying data minimization principles — collecting and processing only data necessary for the intended AI function.
  • Implementing appropriate access controls to limit who can access sensitive data processed by AI systems.
  • Anonymizing or pseudonymizing personal data where feasible for AI training or testing purposes.
  • Obtaining appropriate authorizations before using client data to train or fine-tune AI models.
  • Retaining AI-processed data only as long as necessary for the stated purpose.
  • Implementing security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of data processed by AI systems.

For more information about how we handle personal information, please review our Privacy Policy.

8Security

AI systems introduce unique security considerations. Our approach to AI security includes:

  • Implementing input validation and output filtering to reduce risks from adversarial inputs and prompt injection attacks.
  • Applying the principle of least privilege to AI system access controls.
  • Monitoring AI systems for anomalous behavior that may indicate security compromise.
  • Conducting security assessments of AI systems before deployment where feasible.
  • Maintaining incident response processes for AI-related security events.
  • Evaluating the security practices of third-party AI providers before integration.

9AI Risk Management

DSHG Sonic applies a risk-based approach to AI development and deployment. Key elements of our AI risk management approach include:

  • Classifying AI use cases by risk level based on potential impact, reversibility, and scale of harm.
  • Applying proportionally greater scrutiny to higher-risk AI deployments.
  • Identifying and documenting known limitations of AI systems before deployment.
  • Implementing safeguards appropriate to the risk level of each AI application.
  • Establishing escalation paths for identifying and responding to unanticipated AI risks.

We apply heightened caution before deploying AI in contexts involving healthcare decisions, financial determinations, legal assessments, child safety, or other high-stakes domains.

10Content Safety

DSHG Sonic does not build AI systems designed to generate or distribute:

  • Content that sexually exploits or endangers minors.
  • Content designed to facilitate violence against identifiable individuals or groups.
  • Content designed to facilitate illegal discrimination.
  • Disinformation or synthetic media intended to deceive at scale.
  • Malicious code or cyberweapons.

We implement content safety measures within AI systems where appropriate to the use case, and we reserve the right to decline client requests to build AI systems whose intended purpose conflicts with this policy.

11Agentic AI Systems

DSHG Sonic designs and builds AI agent systems — autonomous AI workflows capable of taking actions, making API calls, processing information, and interacting with external systems on behalf of users. Given the increased autonomy of agentic AI systems, we apply additional safeguards including:

  • Defining clear boundaries on what actions AI agents are authorized to take.
  • Implementing confirmation mechanisms for irreversible or high-impact agent actions.
  • Logging agent actions for audit and accountability purposes.
  • Providing mechanisms for users to pause, override, or terminate AI agent workflows.
  • Testing agent behavior under edge cases and adversarial conditions before deployment.
  • Limiting agent access to external systems and data to what is necessary for the intended function.

12Third-Party AI Services

DSHG Sonic frequently integrates third-party AI platforms, APIs, and models into the solutions we build. Our approach to third-party AI includes:

  • Evaluating the responsible AI commitments and safety practices of AI providers before integration.
  • Reviewing the terms of service and data handling practices of AI providers for alignment with client requirements.
  • Disclosing the use of significant third-party AI components to clients where appropriate.
  • Monitoring for changes to third-party AI provider policies that may affect deployed solutions.
  • Maintaining the ability to adapt or replace third-party AI components as the AI landscape evolves.

DSHG Sonic is not responsible for the independent responsible AI practices of third-party AI providers, but we seek to partner with providers whose values and commitments are aligned with our own.

13Client Responsibilities

When DSHG Sonic builds AI systems for clients, clients retain important responsibilities for responsible AI deployment within their organizations. These include:

  • Ensuring that AI systems built by DSHG Sonic are used in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintaining appropriate human oversight of AI-assisted processes within their organizations.
